Painting landscapes using a modern encaustic method, I love to draw the viewer into magical lands with a sense of awe. While many artists are inspired to create much larger works, my encaustic pieces are quite a small size, as this is the format I am most drawn to with this medium. I have a great love for miniatures and I embrace the challenge of creating a sense of vast expanse within a mere few inches. The beautiful landscape around West Cork provides me with great inspiration to create other-worldly scenes where trees and fields can sparkle with iridescent metallics, and skies and seas glow with colours that appear to simultaneously echo and defy nature, all the while capturing the imagination.

Protected under glass in a beautiful wooden frame, locally made.
